Good Breakfast, Bad Breakfast: Sure, eating breakfast is important. But eating a high-fat, high-carbohydrate breakfast day after day can overwhelm the blood vessels with chronic inflammation, which contributes to diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems.
The good breakfast for the body is high in protein and low in fat and sugars. Some of the best foods for breakfast are combinations of eggs, fruits, green vegetables, oatmeal, whole grain cereals and yogurt. The key is to make a meal that includes whole grains, protein, fiber, a serving of fruit or vegetables.
